Heart Based Care – Preventing Burnout & Compassion Fatigue

Core Training

Heart Based Care – Preventing Burnout & Compassion Fatigue

Duration: 1 Day 8-hour Training | 2 Day 4-hour Training

Significant Risk of Workplace Stress

Healthcare and human services providers are at significant risk for suffering professional burnout and compassion fatigue. Research shows that workplace stress is as bad for one’s heart as smoking and high cholesterol. Learning to experience positive feelings of the heart can directly help alleviate stress and increase work performance. The benefits associated with gratitude have been well studied. Experiencing positive feelings like gratitude and joy improve physical functioning, renew energy levels, and strengthen the body’s natural regenerative processes.

Ironically, professionals are required to complete years of educating their minds while little time or training, if any, is given on being heart-centered, especially in fields that deal with the care, counseling and support of others. Heart Based Care fills this obvious educational gap by introducing a unique heart based approach for preventing burnout and compassion fatigue. Participants will learn a natural and effective means of reducing stress, improving the quality of interpersonal relationships, and enhancing gratitude in daily life. Additionally, heart based communication skills will be enhanced, which are needed for optimizing professional effectiveness and building healthy collaborative care relationships.

Enjoying True Heart Feelings Brings Many Benefits

The innovative Heart Based Therapeutics™ curriculum is centered around learning to recognize and experience the positive feelings of the heart and be able shift into these heartfelt feelings every moment. Negative emotions like worry, anger, and frustration can inhibit mental functions and deplete one’s energy. A heart-centered approach can help participants let go of mind dominant patterns and teach them how to deeply experience true heart feelings such as peace, calmness, joy, beauty, and gratitude. Learning to enhance these true heart feelings directly improves our overall health and well-being. Combining theory with insightful, relaxing and rejuvenating exercises, Heart Based Care guides participants in easily integrating the experience of being heart-centered into their daily lives, effectively benefiting both caregiver/educator/service provider and client/student/customer.
