Listen Now to Episode 15 of Our Podcast — “The Illusion of Not Being Good Enough”

This season’s final episode of our new podcast series – “Our Spiritual Heart” is now available! Listen to “The Illusion of Not Being Good Enough” using the player below or on Spotify! Co-hosted by Kelsey Anderson and Kathy Grant, psychologist Ed Rubenstein, Ph.D. will be discussing, among other topics, the impact of self-judgment and the transformative power of accepting True Source Love.

What Happens when we don’t achieve or live up to the standards we set for ourselves?

In Ed’s role as a Ph.D. level psychologist, he spent many years diligently teaching numerous mind-body interventions and mind-based meditation approaches in a variety of clinical settings; and as he discusses, he was very committed to sharing these approaches. However, nearly 25 years ago, he realized through his own heart-felt experiences that these mind-based methods were limited and that our heart was the missing ingredient to address and access the spiritual dimension of our lives. In this episode, Dr. Ed also explores that our dominant mind-based perceptions of happiness, including such areas as our physical appearance or job status, can become a pain generating trap when they don’t meet the standards we have set for ourselves or society advertises as the ideal. This brings up a deeper topic related to our feelings, often unconscious, of not being worthy enough to be loved by True Source completely. Along with this, we often uncover blockages related to emotions of anger or distrust toward God. Judging ourselves or others squeezes our spiritual heart while relief and true eternal happiness can be found through accepting True Source Love which deepens our relationship with our Creator.
