Kelsey Anderson Feels Right at Home Joining the HBI Board

Kelsey Anderson, HBI Board Member

HBI is pleased to announce that Kelsey Anderson has joined our Board of Directors.  As a dedicated “people person”, Kelsey shares in her own words what it means to serve the public and work with the organization and its other members.

HBI gratefully welcomes newest board member Kelsey Anderson.

You know when something just feels right?  You may not be able to tell where it’s coming from, even if you’ve checked in several times.  You don’t pay attention to all the noise; you just make the choice to go for it.  Well, that’s what it was like when I was asked to join the HBI board.  Sure, I had a few questions but deep down, I knew this was something I was meant to be a part of.  The joy it brought me was so clear!  To be able to work with the individuals currently sitting on the board was an exciting feeling.  I’ve spent time with each of them and I know these are my people.

After only two meetings as a part of the HBI board and I already feel so rejuvenated from these online meetings as our members are located all over the country.  I feel an indescribable “heart link” with this group – like we are all sitting in a circle on the ground by a river together, just connecting.

I’ve also been a volunteer with our “sister” organization, Natural Way of Living for the past 3 years in the Members Relations Division.  During this time, I’ve helped organize daily online practice sessions for alumni who have taken workshops.  It’s been a joy working with the community in this way during the pandemic and beyond.  This experience was a natural fit in joining HBI’s board where I’m helping to share more heart-centered programs with the public.

I’m passionate about working with people and beyond volunteering, it’s something I do professionally as well.  In my position as a Strategic Customer Success Manager for a software company, I help companies use the product they purchased in the best way possible.  I’ve been in the Customer Success field for a little over 4 years now.  Prior to this, I was mainly working with nonprofits, wearing many different hats.  Growing up with two parents as therapists reinforced my desire to connect with people and help support them to realize their greatest potential.

Kelsey and her husband Graham enjoy their trip along the Oregon coast.

On the home front, I live in a tiny house in Eastern North Carolina with my husband Graham.  He’s the one who introduced me to Open Heart Meditation and its wonderful community.  We both work from remotely (thank you fiber internet) and enjoy spending as much time as we can enjoying the land we live on and the beautiful nature surrounding us.  Fellow adventurers, we also love discovering new things by hopping in car and traveling here and there.  We are currently proud plant parents, ‘cool’ aunt and uncle, and happy hearts.

Welcome Kelsey!  It feels like home to us too to have you on the team! We are so very grateful for the many gifts and talents that you will be sharing with us and so many others.
